But Dr. Kwok is a general dentist that will actually do a root canal and crown in his own office. Dr. Kwok was fantastic! I was able to be present in the work station during the entire process to support my wife and see how the process went. We were able to get an emergency appointment for the root canal the same day, while other offices insisted on a consult then come back a different day after the weekend for the root canal. We were so impressed by Dr. Kwok's thorough work on my wife's root canal, we scheduled the crown & build-up with him a couple of days later even though he is over an hour away from us. Typically, a crown would require one visit to get the crown area "built" and have a cast made. That cast would have to be sent out to a lab to have the custom crown made, which takes about 2 weeks. Then a second appointment would be made to install the crown. But Dr. Kwok's office has some amazing equipment that can speed up your entire process! 1. He has portable, ultra low radiation x-ray machines at every work station, so x-rays can be done quickly by the doctor rather than a lab tech, and if the image isn't right then it can be taken again immediately. 2. He has a machine and microscope that he uses to detect the root depth and configuration to ensure the entire root is removed; don't ask me how that voodoo works, but it looked pretty technical. 3. He has an amazing upgrade available for crowns: a high-tech, computerized crown-making machine that maps out your tooth and its surrounding bite with 3D imagery, and then produces a perfectly formed zirconian crown, on-site, in less than 45 minutes. Dr. Kwok is also great at responding to patients' needs and following up with them after serious work he's done. He's willing to answer all your questions before and after procedures. His level of post-care and customer service has been astounding and extremely satisfying to know we actually had a dentist that cared about his patients "beyond the chair." As I mentioned, my wife and I live over an hour away from this office, but it was worth the drive for such a great dentist and such a caring human being. We whole-heartedly recommend him, and his office, to absolutely anyone looking for a dentist. I cannot say enough praise about Dr. Kwok and his friendly staff.
